Health Level 7 (HL7) is an international standard for messaging and data exchange in the healthcare community. ScenPro provides expertise in HL7 models and message specifications, developing requirements and performing testing for software projects.
The National Cancer Institute’s caAdapter tool is an open source utility that facilitates HL7 version 3 message building, parsing, and validation. ScenPro analysts formed an integral part of the caAdapter team. We incorporated details of the HL7 Reference Implementation Model (RIM), Domain Message Information Models (DMIM) and Refined Message Information Models (RMIM) into the tool design; provided knowledge of HL7 message payloads and transmission wrappers; and performed detailed system testing during development. Within the HL7 community, ScenPro actively contributes at working group meetings and gives analysis of HL7 issues such as data type mapping.
